Government Launches Ninth Tranche of Critical Mineral Block Auctions

The Ministry of Mines has launched the ninth tranche of critical mineral block auctions along with the third tranche of exploration licence auctions. The initiative is aimed at strengthening India's domestic access to important minerals required for modern industries and advanced technologies. Critical minerals such as lithium, nickel and other strategic resources play an important role in electric vehicle manufacturing, renewable energy systems, electronics and defence production. India is seeking to reduce its dependence on international supply chains by encouraging domestic exploration and responsible mineral development. The latest auction initiative is expected to attract investment from mining companies and support long-term industrial development.
